The
first cases of a terrifying new drug called 'Krokodil' that eats flesh
from the inside out, is flammable and leaves addicts with reptilian-like
skin have been reported this week in Arizona and the state fears the
beginning of an epidemic.
It
was first encountered by Banner's Poison Control Centre when two drug
addicts arrived in emergency rooms with their flesh hanging off their
body, exposing bone or with skin resembling that of a crocodile, hence
its name.
Krokodil
(medical name desomorphine) is a homemade substance, created by mixing
codeine with gasoline, paint thinner, hydrochloric acid, iodine and red
phosphorous and then injecting the rancid concoction into the users
body.
Continual
use of the drug causes blood vessels to burst, leaving skin green and
scaly among addicts eventually causing gangrene and their flesh to begin
to rot.
The drug is said to be three times cheaper than heroine but has same mental effect.
The drug is very popular in Russia and its usage is spreading like virus.
To be forewarned is to be forearmed... Drug users BEWARE!
